The Analyst European Group Reporting will participate in the preparation of the LGE Group’s external financial information flow to our parent company and banks. The financial information provided to our parent company is used for the Form 10-Q and Form 10-K reporting. Prepare hedge accounting calculations and assist in preparation of quarterly swap valuations. Maintain SOX effective basis within the Group Reporting SOX compliance project. Liaise with external and internal auditors and our parent company. This is a highly demanding and reactive role requiring adherence to deadlines, high standards and attention to detail.

Working Relationships and Team Working

To work closely with all finance personnel of different nationalities, in particular the Reporting Departments within the group and Liberty Global Europe’s US parent company. To liaise with the group’s auditors, Internal Audit Departments, Treasury & Finance and SOX departments.

The candidate will be Reporting to the VP European Group Reporting Schiphol-Rijk offices

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare certain disclosures that are included in the year-end reporting to LGI for the preparation of LGI’s Form 10-K;
  • Prepare certain disclosures that are included in the quarter-end reporting to LGI for the preparation of LGI’s Form 10-Q’s;
  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly UPC Holding BV bank reporting;
  • Monthly B/S and P&L reviews;
  • Prepare hedge inception and quarterly documentations;
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly hedge calculations and co-ordinate with local entities;
  • Monitor non functional currency spend and identify embedded derivative;
  • Work with local entities to ensure properly derivative accounting treatment at local level;
  • Assist in preparation quarterly swap valuations with treasury team;
  • Reconcile external contracts with Bloomberg;
  • Assist is preparation of quarterly disclosure items surrounding derivatives;
  • Assist in the LGE consolidation;
  • Ensure all reporting and work papers are prepared in compliance with US GAAP accounting and SEC reporting rules and SOX;
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as requested;
  • Represent the Company in a professional and presentable manner at all times.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Master degree in business, finance or accounting;
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills required;
  • Understanding of valuation methodologies;
  • Experience with Bloomberg and HFM is a plus;
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal;
  • Willing to work with tight deadlines;
  • Hands on mentality;
  • Highly motivated and able to manage in a changing environment
  • An adept and confident communicator with strong inter-personal skills, effective in dealing with people at all levels. Diplomatic and level headed.
  • Courteous with a collaborative and tolerant working style, a pleasant personality and a good sense of humor.
  • Comfortable working in a team and independently, willing and able to take on responsibility.
  • Pragmatic and reliable, with a high degree of accuracy through due attention to detail.
  • Flexible and mature outlook, adaptable to changing priorities and comfortable managing workload and deadline pressures that may involve late working.

Key Measures

  1. Prepare certain disclosures that are included in the year-end LGI reporting package to LGI Denver (within the required timelines of LGI) and follow up on any additional information requests.
  2. Assist in the preparation of the hedge calculations and swap valuations.
  3. Assist in the preparation of accurate quarterly UPC Bank Reporting financial statements.
  4. Prepare accurate monthly DMR materials.
  5. Perform on a monthly basis B/S and P&L reviews.
  6. On a monthly basis assist in LGE consolidation.
  7. Assist in SOX compliance project for the group reporting department.
